Description
At Marion-Walker Elementary, Learning Support teacher, Mrs. Smith, and a group of fourth grade students adopted a calf! They connected with a farm near Pittsburgh, and have been getting updates throughout the year on their calf, Daisy. In learning about measurement and number comparisons, they've been talking a lot about how Daisy has been growing. Part of this experience was to create a real sized cut out of Daisy. The students measured the silhouette of Daisy on cardboard (using a picture on the board) and then used the Chompsaws to cut her out. They made a silhouette of when Daisy was first born, her at 2 months, and are working on her at 5 months. It's such a great visual to see how big she is compared to how big the kids are!
