PennDOT Roadwork Notice – Route 550 Resurfacing Begins July 7

Beginning Tuesday, July 7, PennDOT will begin overnight resurfacing work on Route 550 (Bishop Street) in Bellefonte Borough. Crews will also begin milling Route 550 (High Street) starting Thursday, July 9. Work Hours:6:00 PM – 6:00 AM throughout the week. What to Expect: Milling and paving operations Flaggers directing traffic Lane restrictions and possible delays Slow-moving construction vehicles Please use caution when traveling through the work zone, follow directions from flaggers, and allow extra travel time during overnight hours. This resurfacing project will improve ride quality and extend the life of more than seven miles of roadway in Centre County. In addition to Route 550, work will also take place on Howard Street and other state routes as part of the project. PennDOT expects the overall project to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting. Thank you for your patience as these improvements are made to our community’s roadways.
